Better compensation and rewards system attracts and retain better talent in any industry. BrightSpyre.com did a salary and compensation survey by involving university students (Business discipline) of Muhammad Ali Jinnah University and Arid Agriculture University (in BrightSpyre’s summer intern-ship program).
The fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry in Pakistan primarily deals with the production, distribution and marketing of consumer packaged goods, i.e. those categories of products that are consumed at regular intervals. The companies in this sector include food & beverage, personal care, pharmaceuticals, plastic goods, paper & stationery and household products etc.
The survey was focused on finding out compensations, medical and insurance benefits, vacations and leave policies, training and development benefits, rewards and benefits in FMCG sector in general and specifically in the sales and marketing functions.
The multinational companies provide better compensation and benefit structure than national and local companies along with better compensation at all levels.
Most of employees including managers and executives of national and multinational companies are entitled for medical insurance coverage immediately and mostly middle and lower level employees are qualified for medical insurance after probationary period. Multinational and national companies also provide short term disability insurance.
Bonus payments are also a normal practice in FMCG industry where 83% of the companies give annual and incentive based bonuses to employees.
The local companies in the FMCG industry need to introduce better insurance schemes. In more than 90% of the industry employees are entitled for fifteen to eighteen days paid holidays.
In the next phase, the survey will be extended to include more organizations and conduct more detailed survey.
The survey findings are based on the sample of data collected during the period of June 2010 to July 2010 from the local, national and multinational companies’ staff. Its good to read the findings but at large we all know that MNCs are paying more and contributing towards the employee growth. I wish the BRIGHTSPYRE will focus on National level organization and then sector wise for e.g. national level pharma, manufacturing or textile companies. It will be a better choice to comparing compensation package.

I have seen this survey but really I am failed to understand what it really means. I want to say that by watching this survey everyone will have a wish jo join multinational setup instead of local or national. Well i request Brightspyre to conduct a survey for our local and national setup, show and educate them, that providing motivation, best reward programs they may compete with multinational setup. I couldn’t find any thing new in this survey because every body in Pakistan knows that MNCs always pay more than any other organization because of having huge budgets, on the other hand i must say that your conclusion is also wrong and being a part of Development sector i guess Compensation and benefits in development sector (NGOs) are far more than other organization and any other sectors so your survey is not yet completed.
I know the truth about this site when i heard from my friend that he got a good job in international NGO whit attractive salary and its all about done by BrightSpyre.

Telecom sector is also included in FMCGs rather its more faster as compare to any FMCG product in the country and including telecom player will give a better insight of compansation and salary as compare to other FMCG companies.
The survey is no dout well indications to setup a good way for future understanding for any young to serve the MNCs in stead of any type of local enterprise,
but overall it is quite irrevesed survey, at present local groups including National as well are very best in pay offs, regardless of very little attractions of some benefits over and above than MNCs.I also seving in a world leader MNC.

It will be better to include local companies in your survey such as FFC, Engro, Sitara Chemicals etc. for comparison with MNCs. Detail break up of salary offered by well known locals and MNCs may be more beneficia for people who are plannig for switch over in their careers.

Govt organizations survey are on fack basis, no proper or accurate record, but the NGO,s and INGO,s survey are best
the survey should include all the sectors( Public, Non Governmental Organisations, MNCs and other sectors) so that to have a clear picture and then there should be comparative analyses to further clarify it.
Its good effort toward guidance for job seekers target their job search accordingly.

Its nice sharing of information. I would like to add that what our national companies management is planning and doing to cope with the MNEs. A very comprehensive strategy to own the employees and developing their long term association with the organization is required. unfortunately we focus on short term planning in contrast to MNEs, and the result is apparent. the life of our organization is short.

i am looking for job from the last three years via rozee.pk, mustakbil.com, brightspyre.com, jobspk.com and many more other job search engines but in my view it is totally useless but mostly employer just view your resume and put it into the basket.
they just want to hire that person who has the relevent experience but they dont know some peoples has god gifted mind and they can adopt any work and way of working easily with respect to the experienced ones.

I think the survey was very sketchy and brief as it has not covered even commonly known departments of the state. In KPk monthly salary of a Director Ihtisab Commission is 300 000 rupees a month, Deputy Director TEVTA is 180000. Such wrong data of showing less pay structure in Pakistan will give out a bad impression and so foreigners all over the world will hire Pakistanis on very low salaries. Pay in Pakistan ranges up to 5 millions a month with so many other fringe benefits.

I am working as Admin Manager in a local Industry. The owners or higher management don’t even know about compensation and benifites. There are no bonuses, no medical facilities and no insurance. They also even denying gratuity. I will suggest to conduct a survey on national / local organizations and industries.
