Telenor Pakistan conducts its internship program every year ( during April – May time ) with a dedicated talent hunt for the brightest minds enrolled in top universities of Pakistan. What sets Telenor apart from the other telcos is that Telenor specifically looks for students who are from smaller urban centers and rural areas.
The details of the application process are shared with universities’ industrial linkages office. The university admin is responsible to inform the students about the opportunity. The opportunity is also advertised across their website, social media and LinkedIn. The students follow the link provided to them. Students make their accounts on the website by filling in their basic information and uploading their resume.
A link to an online test is emailed to them. The test is timed and must be completed within a certain duration. The test is SAT-based (English, Mathematical, and Intelligence examination). The online application form and test are generic and thus all disciplines are welcomed to apply. They take about 40-50 interns every year nation wide.
Upon successful completion of the test, the top scorers are called up for a telephone interview. The final selection is asked to join Telenor as interns.
The Internship Program is 6-8 week internship program. The interns are given small projects to work on during their internship. The projects are respective to their area of interest (field of study) and their department.
Telenor internships are paid (8000-10000 PKR) and provide perks such as temporary residence, transport facility, laptop and cell phone credit.
